Why fleas and ticks are a cycle, not a single event
Fleas lay eggs that fall off pets into carpets, bedding, and yards — by the time you notice adult fleas, there are typically eggs and larvae already established in multiple locations. Treating only the pet, or only the yard, tends to leave the cycle intact.
Ticks are a different concern — they wait in tall grass and brush along the wood line and latch onto anything that brushes past, including pets and people. Hampton Roads' wooded and marshy areas make tick exposure a real consideration for anyone with a yard bordering natural growth.
Treating pets directly with a veterinarian-approved product is Client's responsibility and isn't something we provide — but it's a necessary piece alongside yard and indoor treatment for lasting results.
What actually breaks the cycle
- Yard/perimeter treatment targeting tick habitat — leaf litter, tall grass, and the wood-line edge
- Interior treatment for flea eggs and larvae in carpets and pet resting areas, where needed
- A veterinarian-approved flea/tick preventative for pets, maintained by the homeowner
- A follow-up visit 2–3 weeks out, since flea and tick life cycles mean one visit rarely catches every stage

Flea & tick questions
No — treating pets with a vet-approved flea/tick preventative is the homeowner's responsibility. We handle the yard and indoor environment, which is a necessary complement to pet treatment.
Most homes see a significant reduction within the first week, with the included follow-up visit 2–3 weeks later addressing any newly hatched fleas from eggs present at the first visit.
Ticks in Virginia can carry disease, so prompt removal of any attached tick and yard treatment to reduce tick habitat are both worthwhile precautions.
It depends on where the activity is concentrated — pure yard tick issues may only need exterior treatment, while flea problems affecting pets indoors usually need both. We'll assess during inspection.
Yes — we regularly service homes and businesses throughout Suffolk, from Harbour View and Bennett's Creek to Downtown Suffolk, North Suffolk, and out toward Chuckatuck and Whaleyville. If you're anywhere in Suffolk, we can typically schedule within the week.
