Why spiders show up in the first place

• Egg sacs found indoors are worth having removed rather than left alone, since a single sac can mean dozens of spiderlings hatching in one location.

What reduces spider activity long-term

Since spiders follow food, the most effective long-term approach targets the insects they're feeding on — exterior perimeter treatment reduces the general insect population, which tends to reduce spider activity as a side effect. Sealing common entry points around doors, vents, and window frames helps on both fronts at once.
